13-Years Boy Killed in DUI Car Accident

A 13-year-old boy was killed in Riverside DUI collision while walking to school on November 12, 2014. According to police reports, the fatal accident which involved a driver who was under influence of prescription drugs occurred at Streeter Avenue.

The 13-year old boy who was identified as Giovanni Valle died while receiving treatments at a local hospital. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while under influence at the scene of the accident. The investigations are still undergoing.

Based on police preliminary investigations, it appears that the driver was under influence of drugs at the time of the accident. The investigation also shows that the driver ran a red light and struck Valle who was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk.

The law clearly states that nobody should operate the motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, which includes the over-counter or prescriptions drugs.

Although it is purported that the cyclist was either over speeding or drunk, it remains unclear whether the man was riding in a bike lane, was it a rear end accident, did the inattentiveness or distraction cause accident, or the dangerous roadway condition caused or contributed to the accident.
